Fight Frostbite

Preventing cold-related injury. Supporting recovery. Protecting dignity.

About Us

Fight Frostbite is a nonprofit dedicated to preventing frostbite-related injuries and amputations among individuals experiencing homelessness. Founded and supported by siblings in healthcare profession who have seen firsthand the devastating impact of cold exposure, our purpose is to provide warmth, safety, and dignity to our most vulnerable neighbors.

We recognize that homelessness, cold exposure, and the opioid crisis are deeply connected. That is why we partner with faith leaders, trusted community organizations, healthcare providers, and families involved in harm-reduction and recovery efforts to provide compassionate support that addresses both immediate survival needs and long-term healing while raising awareness of these intersecting public health challenges.

Our Mission

To protect and support unsheltered individuals through:

  • Emergency Warmth: distributing winter gear like socks, gloves.
  • Opioid Harm Reduction: partnering with faith and trusted community leaders, healthcare providers, and families to address grief, addiction, and recovery.
  • Education & Outreach: teaching early recognition of frostbite, hypothermia, and substance use risks.
  • Advocacy: raising awareness of the intersection between homelessness, cold-weather injuries, and the opioid crisis.
